Become a Member

The Institute Library cordially invites women and men of all ages, interests, and backgrounds to apply for membership in our unique organization.

In July 2012, the library returned to a tiered membership system to offer different benefits to suit the needs of a variety of members.  Membership dues are annual.

The Apprentice Membership – $25
First-time members, creatives, and students.

Benefits include:

-Use of the library’s quiet space for reading and study, with free wifi access.
-Borrowing privileges from a circulating collection of 30,000 titles, with no late fees.
-Invitations and discounted admission to library events!

 

The Subscriber Membership – $60
For sustaining members.

Benefits include:

-All of the above privileges plus
-Discounted tickets to Long Wharf Theater! Discount is for tickets at the price of $35 for standards ticket prices up to $75; limits and restrictions may apply.


The Patron Membership – $125

For Membership Library Lovers

Benefits include:

-All of the above privileges plus
-Free admission to series programs and
-Visiting and borrowing privileges at 9 historic partner libraries throughout the U.S. including: The New York Society Library, NYC; The Salem Athenaeum in Salem, MA; Redwood Library and Athenaeum in Newport, RI; and The Portsmouth Athenaeum in Portsmouth, NH.
